Another Reason to Buy a Nintendo Wii!

I couldn’t find a video as good as this one on YouTube. I came across this video at the Games Industry Wire blog, which regurgitated the video from GameTrailers.com.

For the longest time I’ve opposed FPS games for console systems. Why? Well, they always seem to be poorly-made ports from the PC versions. Check these out:

Call of Duty for the PC was ported into Call of Duty: Finest Hour

Call of Duty 2 for the PC was ported into Call of Duty: Big Red One (This game was kind of cool because it featured voice acting by some of the guys from Band of Brothers, the HBO mini-series directed by Tom Hanks).

Battlefield 2 became the lack-luster Battlefield 2: Modern Combat.

Granted, a lot of the difference has to do with the style of play. Gamers seem to be divided when it comes to preferences about keyboard/mouse or controllers. In most cases, the keyboard/mouse combination makes for the best FPS experience because it allows for the easiest control and precision. However, now that we have motion-sensor controller on behalf of Nintendo, we may start seeing a new preference being favored.

Between Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles and Medal of Honor: Vanguard, the Nintendo Wii has some serious opportunities to appeal to older, more hardcore gamers that are usually found in the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC crowds. I don’t know about you, but I’m so excited I feel like I could grind a level 1 Troll Hunter to level 70 in a week!
