I’ve started playing Warriors Orochi for the PC. I’m supposed to write a game review on it for CheatCC. My intial impressions are so-so. The game has some noticeable flaws in it, such as its lack of mouse support. It took me a good 20 seconds to realize that I couldn’t navigate the menu screens with my mouse. In fact, the entire game looks like a cheap console-to-PC conversion, with options for Controller Vibration left in the options menu. Of course, the game could have a completely different feel if I plugged in an Xbox 360 controller, but if I had an Xbox 360 controller and liked this game enough, I’d probably already have it for my 360! The highest resolution you can set the game to is 1024×768, which is measely considering how easy the game is on your machine even at high settings. I could go on and on about this, but I’ll save the bulk of it for my review.
I recently had to buy a couple pairs of jeans because I’ve ripped the seams right out of my old pairs, which hasn’t left me with a lot of money. Nevertheless, I managed to put the money down for Sins of a Solar Empire. I’ve been playing the demo a lot recently and it really captured my attention. While I’m not a very good RTS gamer because I lack the determination to memorize complicated build orders, Sins of a Solar Empire is slow-paced enough to make the game more about strategy rather than quick micro, which is something I’m drawn to. Of course, there isn’t really a campaign or story mode to build the atmosphere, but I was never one to care for the stories in RTS games (except for Starcraft of course).
“So what are the sins of this solar empire?”
“I dunno…”
